WWF has been requested by the Environmental Conservation Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation (MONREC) to identify design options for Myanmar’s Environmental Management Fund including key sources of income, governance structure possibilities and key issues the fund could focus on. An initial scoping study identified options based on how these funds operate in other countries. Consultations and inputs from key stakeholders will refine the content of this study and start identify feasible options that will be further elaborated in a fund design paper.
