Projects Myanmar-Denmark Twinning Program on Renewables
Myanmar-Denmark Twinning Program on Renewables
Preparing for the future with renewables
Myanmar needs to increase electricity production. The quickest renewable solutions to construct such as solar and wind power are new to the government’s technical experts.
The Myanmar Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MoEE) wants to build up its capacity in integrating renewable energy into Myanmar’s grid system.
The Myanmar-Denmark Twinning Program on Renewables sought to address Myanmar’s need for rapid electrification and to ensure that MoEE had the capacity to harness the country’s renewable energy generation potential and handle variable renewable energy. The collaborative program brought together expertise from both the public and private sectors, interacting through hands-on training, study visits, internships, and postgraduate level studies.
Goals
Develop the capacity of Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MoEE) on how to integrate an increasing amount of variable renewable power into the power grid through a collaborative approach between multiple stakeholders in Myanmar and Denmark.
