Tha Bar Wa continues its support to F&B businesses: how to install sustainable production practices
25 January 2022: The Tha Bar Wa project organised an online workshop on sustainable production within the food and beverage (F&B) sector, together with its project implementation partner, the Myanmar Food Exporter and Processor Association (MFPEA).

The workshop, delivered by experts from Tha Bar Wa and MFPEA, introduced the Tha Bar Wa project, cleaner production practices, wastewater pollution and treatment processes, and energy efficiency approaches with some case studies. 70 small- and medium-sized enterprises from Yangon and Mandalay attended the online session, and their questions related to project support for factory assessments were answered, as well as a focus on wastewater and energy management.
Achievements of the Tha Bar Wa project and upcoming events were also shared with workshop participants.
The Tha Bar Wa project is funded by the European Union under the SWITCH-Asia Programme. It promotes cleaner production within the food and beverage industry by promoting wastewater treatment plants, energy efficiency, and renewable energy. It also supported financial institutions to offer banking products designed specifically for cleaner production.
